Acupuncture
Utilizing the diagnostic system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture
uses extremely thin, sterile needles and other techniques to access Qi
(energy - pronounced “chee”) through a network of meridians
or energy pathways in the body. The goal of acupuncture is to bring excess
and deficiency (allopathic medicine refers to pathology) into a state
of balance (homeostasis in allopathy), supporting a strengthened immune
system.
Craniosacral
Based on the early twentieth century work of Osteopathic Physician Dr.
William Sutherland, this subtle therapy employs light, sustained touch
that facilitates free rhythmic movement of the craniosacral system which
includes bones, nerves, fluids, and connective tissues of the cranium
and spinal area. The goal of this holistic practice is to achieve a state
of balance/homeostasis, allowing for better immune response and overall
health.
Facial Rejuvenation
By toning facial muscles and allowing the body's musculature to realign;
Facial Rejuvenation nourishes the skin on the cellular level, stimulates
nerve function, and renews the body and spirit. Through gentle massage
techniques and activating energy points on the head and face, Facial Rejuvenation
seeks to promote a state of balance.
Healing Touch
Healing Touch is a holistic energy therapy that emphasizes compassionate,
heart-centered care in which the Healing Touch provider and client are
equal partners in facilitating health and healing. Healing Touch providers
use gentle, non-invasive touch to influence and support the human energy
system within and surrounding the body. The goal of Healing Touch is to
restore harmony, energy and balance within the human energy system.
Massage
Massage therapy is recognized as one of the oldest methods of healing,
with references in medical texts nearly 4,000 years old. By using various
massage techniques to manipulate muscles and soft tissue, often with oil
or lotion as a medium, clients experience improved lymphatic, nervous
system, and circulatory function.
Massage with Marma
Points
Marma-point massage stems from Ayurveda, the ancient healing system of
India, and is believed to date back to southern India circa 1500 BC. Marma,
which means hidden or secret in Sanskrit, addresses imbalances in mind-body-spirit
through accessing marma points. These points are considered intersections
of vital life force and prana (breath), and are sequentially stroked using
specific essential oils, supporting better sleep, immune response, and
physical stability.
Reflexology
Reflexology uses points on the hands, feet and ears that correspond to
other areas of the body. Similar in theory to acupressure, reflexology
seeks to stimulate the flow of energy, thus helping to relieve pain or
blockages and promote balance.
Reiki
Loosely translated, Reiki means universal or spiritually-guided life-force
energy. Practiced for thousands of years throughout Asia, Reiki is used
as a method of promoting balance and reducing stress through light touch
or placing the hands near or above the body in specific positions or patterns.
Shiatsu
A traditional Japanese modality with its roots in Traditional Chinese
Medicine, shiatsu utilizes hara diagnosis and meridian work to address
energy imbalances that contribute to pain and illness. With combined massage,
point work, and stretching, shiatsu is a powerful and effective tool for
immune strengthening, energy balancing, and stress reduction.
Thai Foot Massage
Thai Foot Massage massages the lower legs and the sole of the feet that
“open” energy lines “sen” inside the body by stimulating
the pressure points on the foot which correspond with internal organs.
It is said that this massage creates energy flow, releases stress and
induces relaxation, enhances a restful sleep, reduces stiffness and improves
flexibility, stimulates blood and lymph circulation, assists in removing
toxins and helps promote a better immune system.
